In essence, you can’t go wrong by entrusting your seeds or cuttings to Root Riot Plant Starter Cubes!
How to Utilize Root Riot Cubes
Root Riot grow plugs arrive pre-moistened. If they feel dry to the touch, simply rehydrate them by immersing them in lukewarm water. The plugs should be moist and springy, not saturated, ideally at room temperature. Unused cubes should be stored in the plastic bag to prevent drying out.
For Cuttings:
Select appropriate cutting material, typically softwood tips are best. Prepare the cutting by making a diagonal cut just below a node or stem swelling, leaving a couple of leaves.
Dip the cut end into Clonex Rooting Gel, then gently insert it into the pre-formed hole in the top of the cube. Avoid forcing the cutting in; it should be inserted just enough to support it.
Mist the cuttings with Clonex Mist as directed, and cover the tray with a clear lid or plastic bag to boost humidity. Maintain humidity levels by regularly misting.
For Seeds:
Simply place the seed into the hole of the cube.
Position the tray in a warm location until germination occurs.
Monitor the moisture levels in the cubes, particularly in warmer conditions that accelerate drying. Ideally, moisture should surface upon gentle squeezing. If not, lightly water the cubes and allow excess water to drain.
Once roots become visible, the new plant is ready for transplantation. The cubes can also be transferred to any growing system at this stage.
